Introductory workshop
13 November 2025, 4:00–6:00 p.m. – language: English
Alexander Technique is ideal for performers and is known for enabling greater ease and freedom of movement. This applies to everyday activities such as sitting, standing, or walking, as well as to more complex or demanding activities such as playing a musical instrument and performing in front of an audience. Many people who use the Alexander Technique also report positive psychological effects, such as stress reduction. Standing, sitting, or moving well without wasting energy and maintaining good coordination is an essential skill, especially for performers. In the workshop, we will focus on some simple, everyday movements, with a special emphasis on back-friendly sitting.
Half-hour individual lessons
by appointment - language: German or English
The Alexander Technique is usually taught in individual lessons, as these allow for a detailed response to the respective situation, needs, and individual habit patterns of each person. After the workshop, all participants are invited to sign up for a half-hour individual lesson with Jean or Regina at the Alexander Technique Studio Graz (Harrachgasse) as part of this introduction. The appointments will take place within a three-week period after the workshop.
GOAL
This introductory workshop will give participants a theoretical and practical insight into the Alexander Technique. Some basic principles of the Alexander Technique will be presented through practical ‘games’.
