Kaya Meller formed her quartet—with trumpet, piano, double bass, and drums—in 2015 while studying in Austria.
The quartet features her original compositions based on melodies, improvisation, and rhythm inspired by musicians from different countries and cultures.
The main impact on her work was studying in Boston at Berklee College of Music.
Meeting and collaborating with musicians from around the world has opened new horizons of sound and colors into the process of creating her music.
Recently Kaya Meller Quartet has recorded a debut album called “Reflections”
