In the current challenging political and financial climate, where funding opportunities are increasingly limited due to budget cuts, it becomes increasingly daunting to secure support for our artistic practices and projects. Grant Writing Course is designed to provide you with the essential tools to not only navigate but also flourish in this competitive funding landscape, offering you a smoother path to make successful applications. It aims to give the main perspective and tools to make a competitive grant application, specifically focusing on both international and local funding opportunities and residency applications. During this course, you will be step by step by instructed on the narrative structure of a grant application. You will learn formulating your project description and artist statement as well as receive tips on portfolio making and successful artist resume preparation. You will also learn how to utilize AI tools to write all the content of your applications with the correct prompt. Additionally, you will explore the decision process in funding application evaluations and the ways of finding suitable local and International application calls for your project/artwork. This is a hands-on grant writing course for artists, artistic projects, and applications for residency programmes covering other critical topics like making a realistic time line and an efficient budget.

  • Hands-on participants: Limited to 15 people for an interactive experience.
  • Listeners: Up to 15 additional spots available (hands-on section excluded).

Places will be allocated to computer music students first, then in order of registrations.

Berlin Art Grant Clinic, founded in 2014, supports artists, curators, NGOs, and creatives in building sustainable careers in the arts. Through seminars, workshops, and consultancy, it bridges the gap between art school and professional life, helping over 2,600 individuals secure funding with a 78% success rate for its Emergency Room program.

Ece Pazarbaşı, the clinic’s ‘doctor,’ blends curatorial practice and artistic research, focusing on interdisciplinary education. In 2019, she founded the Field Kitchen Academy, an one-of-its-kind experimental residency merging alternative education, research and practice. Her projects explore sound, urbanism, public spaces, participatory art, and the human body. She has worked with and curated exhibitions worldwide, including the 52nd Venice Biennial Turkish Pavilion, New Museum NY, Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), Werkbundarchiv - Museum der Dinge, Hamburger Bahnhof, Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien, Wilhelm Hack Museum, and Tanas Berlin (with Rene Block). She had the privilege to be awarded a research grant from Olafur Eliasson’s Institution for Spatial Experiments (IFREX). Her artistic projects include contributions to the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin’s Festival of Future Nows (“Sticks and Stones” by David Chipperfield) and Wilhelm Hack Museum, Ludwigshafen.
